ABOUT US
Who We Are
EcoHope Initiative is a registered Community-Based Organization (CBO) founded in Njabini/Kiburu Ward, Nyandarua County. We work at the interface between communities and the Aberdare Forest, promoting environmental conservation, climate action, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.
Our Story
EcoHope was born from witnessing the growing environmental challenges facing the Aberdare ecosystem. Unsustainable shamba systems, forest dependency, biodiversity loss, youth unemployment, and climate change posed a serious threat to our future.
We realized that the solution must come from the community itself — guided by science, anchored in education, and driven by hope.
That is how EcoHope Initiative was formed.
Our Mission
To restore ecosystems, empower communities, and promote sustainable livelihoods through research, education, climate action, and strong partnerships.
Our Vision
A restored, biodiverse, and climate-secure Aberdare landscape where communities live sustainably and future generations thrive.
Our Mission
EcoHope Initiative is dedicated to the restoration of the Aberdare ecosystem and the empowerment of local communities. Our approach integrates scientific research, educational initiatives, and the promotion of sustainable livelihoods. We are committed to building climate resilience and fostering a harmonious coexistence between nature and communities.
